What's this, two in one day?

Coincidence that I happened to finish them at the same time, I promise they weren't both done in 12 hours. : p

Anyway, this mostly spawned from the fact that I got some new inking pens (Alvin Penstix, I reccomend them; half the price of Sakura Microns and I like them more) and the fact that I've been wanting to do a proper drawing of this character's true form for.. a really long time now.

Yes, I know, before anyone says a word, his feet aren't made for perching on that branch. : P He doesn't spend any time sitting in trees, I honestly don't know why I drew him sitting on a branch. Extended brain fart.

Very cool! I love the glowing eyes and, uh, gems? the highlights from the glowing chest gem are nicely done, too.
The rain is great - you've really captured a dynamic effect there (but I'm missing the water that would be splashing
on him and/or dripping off - maybe just subtle hints... but that's pretty minor)
I'm afraid I just don't see what ~SpookyCasper is talking about with the contrasts...
