I'm always inspired by dreams, which is mostly what this piece is about. The first thing I'll do if I'm feeling uninspired is to flop down on my bed and cover my head with a pillow.. I tend to have recurring themes in my dreams, a lot of which I incorporated here (the setting itself, as well, is similar to a place that shows up a lot). The figure has her back turned to the viewer because human figures in my dreams tend to be vague; it's very rare that I'll have a clear look at a face while I'm dreaming.
On a side note, I'd just like to say I have the best watchers in the world. Thanks to everyone who gave me awesome feedback on this piece, I appreciate it a million times over. I'm mostly finished with it at this point, but feel free to point out anything else that could be fixed up and I'll probably go back and tweak.
This is a lovely painting ... one of those that almost tells a story, like a snatch of dream. Part of you wants to understand it and part of you knows that if you do understand it, it will kill the magic.
I'm very glad a friend told me to check out your gallery!
I don't see anything that needs changing here.
This is undeniably an awesome piece of work you have created, and I give it:
Two thumbs up!
If I had more, they'd be up, too.
